Quinnipiac
University invites applications for the position of Secretary to
perform secretarial, administrator assistance, student assistance, and
clerical duties required to support the School of Medicine Office of
Student Affairs.
About the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine:
The
Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine admitted its inaugural class of
medical students in August 2013. The school was founded with the aim of
educating diverse, patient centered physicians who are partners and
leaders in an interprofessional primary care workforce. Our primary

Responsibilities:
-Support assigned Dean(s), faculty and administrative staff in the performance of their duties.
-Maintain phone coverage and greet visitors and students, take messages, relay information and answer questions. Handle high public contact efficiently and professionally. Have knowledge of Quinnipiac and School of Medicine procedures, catalog, and the student handbook; answer questions within scope of knowledge and authority.
-Maintain a centralized calendar for all Student Affairs related events.
-Use Quinnipiac’s Datatel system fully and effectively, including budgets, requisitions, and student record keeping.
-Use University software to perform duties such as correspondence, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, reports, grants, forms and memos. Edit work for accuracy, format, spelling, punctuation and construction. Assure timely completion of all material.
-Gather and enter data for the preparation of various reports/documents.
-Organize and maintain a filing system for all pertinent department/program data so that it is readily accessible.
-Arrange meetings as required, notify participants, and arrange for all materials, food, facilities, AV equipment, budgets, travel, and support functions. Handle travel for administrative staff and students.
-Assist with the organization, preparation and ordering for University events.
-Attend various functions at times outside the “regular” working hours (i.e. weekends, evenings).
-Supervise and coordinate work for student workers.
-Other secretarial duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants:
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
1 to 3 years experience working in high traffic office setting.
Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
Experience with Datatel/Colleague Advancement is preferred.
Ability to work after hours as necessary.
Please
note this is a Grade 5 position in the Clerical & Technical Unit,
hourly rate is $21.04. In addition, it requires a successful completion
of both a background check and Microsoft Office skills test.
